Our #1 goal is to help you accomplish your running goals and to make your training and racing experiences POSITIVE and FUN.
You are embarking on an adventure that will culminate in a remarkable achievement Cooper River Bridge 10k on April 4th, 2020.
Strictly Running accepts runners of all abilities and emphasizes cross-training as an important element to success. Our groups will meet and run together twice a week and we will email a training regimen for each week leading up to the 10k. We request that you be comfortable running/walking a minimum of a half of a mile a week before February 3rd.
The Class will meet on Saturdays for long runs, track workout and hills. Wednesdays we will meet at Riverfront Park, 5:45pm. Saturdays we will meet at Strictly Running at 2515 Devine Street, 7:30am. There will also be selected runs at other locations to keep it interesting. Speed work will take place at USC Track, Hand Middle School and MLK Park. Hills workout will take place at Saluda Ave and Lee Street in Five Points.
Base Training for 3-4 weeks. We will focus on your running form and build your running foundation for the event. We will use the following tools: breathing, video, still pictures, hills, and we will make some suggestions if needed.
Event Training for 3-4 weeks. This will be the best part of training for sure. You learn how to run your Goal Pace using the following tools: Trail Running, Longer Miles and Tempo running with some friends.
Speed Training for 2-4 weeks. This session will teach you how to run like a Mercedes Benz and cross the finish line with a smile on your FACE. You learn how to run at your Top Speed using the following tools: Track, Long Hills and Steady State running with some friends.
Yoga Training for 1-9 weeks. These classes will help your body recover faster and balance your mind/soul. Join us on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
